Key Responsibilities

As an SFS Accountant, your day-to-day will involve high-impact tasks essential to financial operations:

• Prepare journal entries and conduct thorough month-end account reconciliations to maintain ledger accuracy.
• Support the month-end close process for SFS, providing insightful commentary and flux analysis on variances.
• Deliver timely updates on account reconciliations and aged items to management and stakeholders.
• Contribute to regulatory filings, including audited standalone financial statements and quarterly Call Reports.
• Assist in crafting financial reporting disclosures for Block Inc.'s SEC filings (10Q/10K).
• Respond to inquiries on Bank financials and board reports with precision and professionalism.
• Maintain SOX-compliant documentation and support internal control environments.
• Drive process enhancements to streamline accounting workflows and improve efficiency.
• Facilitate statutory audits by coordinating with internal/external auditors and bank regulators.
• Partner with Block teams in Accounting, Procurement, Finance & Strategy, Tax, Counsel, and Treasury.
• Document controls ensuring adherence to regulatory and internal standards.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and other teams to align SFS operations with business needs.
• Provide financial oversight, ensuring all records meet GAAP and regulatory standards.
