Boeing Global Services (BGS) Engineering is seeking a Project Engineer to join the BGS Supply Chain Engineering (SCE) Supplier Recovery Team in Seal Beach, California and Dallas, Texas. The BGS SCE Supplier Recovery Team delivers engineering support for Supply Chain led supplier recovery operations and integrates across all business units and supplier facilities to achieve long-lasting Supply Chain Recovery. This role will manage project scope, schedule, technical solutions, and stakeholder alignment across internal teams and supplier organizations to restore and sustain supplier production, quality, and delivery performance for critical in-service and sustainment programs.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead complex supplier recovery projects end-to-end: define project scope, develop recovery plans, manage milestones, risks, budgets, and stakeholder communications.
  • Serve as primary technical and programmatic interface between BGS, suppliers, customers, and internal functional teams (Global Field Operations, Supplier Management & Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain Recovery Teams).
  • Provide engineering resource determination, alignment, and reach-back across BGS and BCA/BDS Program level engineering as needed.
  • Oversee and lead executive approved On-Site Supplier Recovery efforts and engagements, including deep-dive root cause analysis, process capability studies, and validation testing.
  • Gather and assess engineering requirements needed to rectify supplier constraints.
  • Drive supplier corrective action execution and verify implementation effectiveness and return to stable production.
  • Lead contingency planning for near-term containment actions and medium-/long-term corrective strategies; manage trade-offs between cost, schedule, and risk.
  • Develop and manage project documentation: integrated recovery schedules, technical specifications, risk registers, change requests, test plans, and acceptance criteria.
  • Facilitate executive-level briefings, program reviews, and customer status updates; escalate issues and propose mitigation options.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, quality (AS9100), and program-specific requirements during recovery activities.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site at one of the listed location options.

Willingness and ability to travel regularly to supplier sites (Up to 50% of the time).

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace) or related field.
  • 9+ years of engineering or program management experience in manufacturing, supplier management, or recovery roles; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience in an Aerospace Engineering discipline
  • 1+ year of experience managing complex, cross-functional projects with supplier engagement and measurable delivery/quality recovery outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, or MBA.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent continuous improvement certification.
  • Strong technical background in manufacturing processes, process validation, and root cause analysis for manufacturing.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute recovery plans under schedule pressure and to negotiate remediation scope with suppliers and procurement.
  • Effective communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills for supplier engagement and cross-functional coordination.
  • Project management skills: schedule development, critical path analysis, risk management, budget tracking. PMP or equivalent experience.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing engineering, manufacturing planning, and industrial engineering practices
  • Prior experience in aerospace sustainment, MRO, or defense contracting with supplier remediation responsibilities.
  • Familiarity with procurement processes, contract remedies, and cost recovery principles.
  • Boeing business knowledge and previous exposure to supply chain or supplier management — experience navigating BGS processes, procurement engagement, and supplier governance is highly desirable.
