Boeing is are seeking a Senior Labor Relations Advisor to be based in Malaysia, who will be responsible for the labor relations strategy  for the Southeast Asia region. Preferred candidate will be technically capable, intellectually curious, a team player, and self-starter. The incumbent would work from the KL office, with some business-related travel. A mindset of  process improvement and an ability to communicate at all levels of an organization is required. Organizational savvy and the ability to collaborate with others while still achieving results in a timely manner is essential.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Providing sound, pragmatic advice and guidance to the business on employee/labor relations matters, including the interpretation and application of industrial instruments,

  • Take carriage of and provide advice and guidance to the business on the management of disputes and workplace issues,

  • Plan, prepare and manage Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) negotiations,

  • Support management in their dealings with employee representative bodies,

  • Lead and support business transformation/change projects,

  • Liaison with internal legal counsel for the drafting of Employment/Industrial documentation and advisory.

  • Drive, coordinate and administer the organization’s consultative forums,

  • Develop and facilitate training for first line Managers in conjunction with the broader human resources team,

  • Establish, Maintain and Repair relationships with external third parties (e.g. employee representative bodies, government entities, industry associations) as well as internal stakeholders (e.g. Human Resource business partners, finance, business leaders, and communities of excellence). 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Labor Relations,  Human Resources  or related degree

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in Employee /Labor Relations or HR in large multinational and highly matrixed organization, with progressively more responsible roles.

  • Strong working knowledge of relevant employment/industrial laws and experience with containment / positive employee relations, preferably covered SEA region.

  • Proven experience in understanding and interpreting Industrial Instruments and CBAs in Malaysia and one other country in SEA region.  

  • Substantial experience in dealing with unions and employee representatives.

  • Ability to think strategically in the context of the whole enterprise.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualification (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Preferred languages:  Excellent English language skills with Bahasa Malaysia or Bahasa Indonesia

  • Post-graduate qualification

  • Excellent Presentation and Influencing skills.
