Work scope includes:               

• Conduct research and pre-development of innovative electrical machines for electrified vehicles but not limited to
• Focus on electromagnetic design, simulation and optimization as well as prototyping and validation.
• Work closely with corporate research hub in Renningen, Germany, on project activities and competence development.
• Work closely with business units to supply cutting edge and competitive technology solutions and to transform them to products.
• Execute technology scouting in China/Asia covering both academia and industry for preparing strategic decisions.
• Main responsibilities include
  • Pursue technology excellence by contributing brilliant ideas  to new product concepts including patent filing
  • Support project activities to transfer deliverables to business units successfully
  • Manage suppliers and lab facilities for sample construction.

Qualifications

• Ph.D or Master degree in discipline of electrical machine
• At least 5 years electrical machine design experience in academia or industry for Master degree
• Expert knowledge and practical experiences in electrical machine design, simulation, fast prototyping and experimental validation
• Familiar with mechanical design, thermal management, and tools such as Ansys, JMAG, MotorCAD, UG, Matlab/ Simulink.
• Excellent communication skills, fluent in English (oral and written), German speaking is a plus
• Good knowledge with certain level of experience on electric powertrain system and components e.g. inverter, electric motor and gearbox are preferred.
• International education and experiences is a plus
• Efficient, goal-oriented, structured working style, experienced in project work
• Passionate for innovation; filed patents on qualified content during PhD or prior work is a benefit
• Strong team player; open to work in an international environment
