Job Description

Portfolio Planning & Forecasting: Lead the development of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-range financial plans for R&D Portfolio spend (grants, supplies and alliances), ensuring alignment with strategic priorities. Consolidation & Reporting: Own month-end and Qtr. close narratives and variance analysis; synthesize insights into concise materials for senior leadership reviews, consolidating financials across therapeutic areas in close collaboration with the Hyderabad FP&A Hub team. Deliver timely and insightful reporting to R&D leadership and assist in preparing presentations to senior leaders and business partners. Govern high quality submissions across planning systems (Anaplan; Hyperion), ensuring data integrity, controls, and on-time deliverables. Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze actuals vs. plan, identify drivers of variance and provide insights on financial health of the R&D Portfolio, analyze and identify drivers of spending trends and forecasts Business Partnering: Collaborate closely with Therapeutic Area Finance Leads, R&D Portfolio Finance, Portfolio Strategy and Operations, BI&T and the Hyderabad FP&A hub team to ensure cohesive financial planning and support decision-making. Process Improvement: Champion process simplification, standardization, and automation across the planning and reporting cycle, working in concert with the Hub team. Enhance digital solutions (self-service dashboards, data visualization, modeling accelerators) that reduce cycle time and raise decision quality. Drive simplification and automation of reporting processes, leveraging tools such as SAP, Hyperion, Excel, and Power BI. Governance & Controls: Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and corporate policies. Effectively partner with the R&D Portfolio FP&A team to ensure standardized guidelines are communicated and followed across the portfolio. Ensure relevant accounting procedures and controls are in place and operating, and all requirements for US GAAP are fulfilled. Work-life programs include paid national holidays and optional holidays, Global Shutdown Days between Christmas and New Year's holiday, up to 120 hours of paid vacation, up to two (2) paid days to volunteer, sick time off, and summer hours flexibility.

  • MBA or advanced degree preferred

  • Knowledge of R&D financial planning and analysis
  • Familiarity with US GAAP
