Position Summary

The Business Unit Financial Analyst at Sonoco plays a pivotal role in our Finance team, driving strategic planning, budgeting, and performance insights for our Manchester business unit. This mid-level position demands a sharp analytical mind to support long-range planning, M&A activities, and operational decision-making. You'll collaborate with business leaders to optimize financial performance, forecast capital needs, and deliver actionable insights that shape our competitive edge in the packaging sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Report and develop strategic objectives focused on growth, profitability, product mix, and geographic expansion.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, including monthly presentations on key drivers.
• Optimize net working capital, review capital projects, and support cash flow forecasting.
• Partner with operations to challenge assumptions, identify opportunities, and enhance decision-making tools.
• Participate in corporate development and M&A projects.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related discipline; Master’s or certifications (CPA, CMA, CFA) preferred.
• Proven FP&A experience with strong analytical, financial modeling, and ERP skills.
• Excellent communication for presenting to leadership, plus proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and data transformation.
• Collaborative mindset with ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
