Job Summary

Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the Buyer will manage strategic suppliers to meet customer demands, ensure timely procurement, and hit inventory targets. This on-site role in St. Thomas, ON, involves resolving supply chain issues, performing analytics for better decisions, and driving efficiency. Ideal for self-starters with 3-5 years in purchasing, offering exposure to new product development, engineering changes, and cross-functional projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage strategic suppliers via negotiation, relationship building, and performance metrics.
• Create and manage purchase orders (PO) including supplier, price, quantity, and ETA for product portfolios.
• Own inventory management, identifying opportunities to reduce stock (e.g., MOQ, lead times).
• Conduct supplier meetings/reviews and coordinate quality/non-conformance issues with engineering and quality teams.
• Handle engineering changes, end-of-life component balance-outs, and participate in new product development.
• Analyze procurement data to enhance metrics, efficiency, and support TCP targets via Glass House initiatives.
• Lead Root Cause & Counter Measure analysis for working capital and fill rate improvements.
• Assist in policy development, cross-functional teams, and ensure compliance with internal controls.

Skills & Qualifications

To succeed, bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related (preferred).
• PMAC Certification highly desired.
• 3-5 years purchasing experience with growing responsibility.
• Proficiency in computer systems (JDE experience an asset); product/inventory knowledge beneficial.
• Excellent communication, analytical/decision-making skills, negotiation prowess, and ability to work under pressure.
