Purpose of the Role:
The Project Buyer ensures timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services for assigned projects, aligning with project timelines, quality standards, and budget constraints. This role bridges suppliers, internal stakeholders, and project teams to guarantee smooth execution.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute the project-specific procurement strategy.
• Define purchasing schedules aligned with project timelines.
• Analyze project requirements and specifications to determine sourcing needs.
• Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on capability, quality, cost, and delivery performance.
• Conduct supplier negotiations to achieve best value.
• Oversee supplier onboarding and ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare RFQs and manage tendering processes.
• Create purchase orders and negotiate terms and conditions.
• Manage long-term agreements for project-specific or recurring needs.
• Monitor and manage project procurement budgets.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and mitigate cost overruns.
• Work closely with Finance team, logistics, quality, and project management.
• Participate in project meetings and provide procurement updates.
• Identify supply risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Monitor supplier performance and resolve potential disruptions.
• Ensure continuity of supply for all critical project components.
• Maintain accurate procurement documentation and records.
• Track key procurement KPIs
Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in supply chain management, Procurement, or Business Administration
• 4 years of procurement experience, preferably in project-based environments.
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Excellent project management and organizational capabilities.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP) and MS Office is a plus.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management.
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
• Strong team player with the ability to work cross-functionally.
• High ethical standards and commitment to procurement best practices.
