About the Role

Join the team at Canva redefining how the world experiences design. As a 3D Designer in our Prague-based 3D & Mockups group within the Design team, you'll create hyper-realistic 3D visualizations of Canva's print products—from business cards and brochures to packaging and apparel. Your work will bring user designs to life in inspiring, accurate contexts, fueling creativity and confidence for millions worldwide. Collaborating with fellow 3D Designers, Graphic Specialists, Art Directors, Content Leads, and Engineers, you'll deliver world-class mockups at scale while experimenting with automation to innovate workflows in our hybrid, full-time role. Our 3D & Mockups team in Prague leads Canva's European 3D efforts, pushing boundaries from realistic product mockups to immersive design experiences. Key Responsibilities

• Craft ultra-realistic 3D mockups of Canva print products, including models, textures, lighting, and renders that appear indistinguishable from real life
• Optimize and prepare 3D assets for WebGL integration, ensuring high performance and visual consistency across web environments
• Collaborate closely with 3D Designers, Graphic Specialists, Art Directors, Content Leads, Program Managers, and Engineers to align mockups with Canva's content strategy
• Experiment with automation scripts, tools, and workflows to streamline repetitive tasks and scale 3D production efficiently
• Innovate on new 3D products and processes, learning unfamiliar tools and solving unique challenges to push creative boundaries
• Stay ahead of 3D visualization trends, experimenting with techniques to elevate the quality and efficiency of print mockups
• Manage multiple projects and priorities, delivering consistent, high-quality mockups on time for Canva's print product range
• Contribute to team brainstorming and ideation, bringing fresh ideas to enhance user visualization experiences
• Ensure all 3D assets inspire creativity and build user confidence in seeing designs come to life
• Support the expansion of Canva's 3D capabilities beyond mockups into broader immersive design experiences

Required Qualifications

• Advanced hands-on expertise in Blender, including modeling, shading, lighting, and asset preparation for production
• Proven experience in 3D modeling, texturing, and rendering with a portfolio showcasing realistic product visualization, ideally including print products
• Strong ability to optimize 3D assets for WebGL environments, ensuring lightweight, performant, and visually consistent delivery
• Experience collaborating in cross-functional teams with designers, art directors, content leads, and engineers
• Demonstrated organizational skills to manage multiple projects, balancing quality, speed, and priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Sharp eye for detail in realism, material accuracy, proportion, and hyper-realistic rendering
• Curiosity and experience with automation, scripting, or tools to optimize repetitive 3D workflows

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience creating 3D mockups for print products like business cards, brochures, packaging, and apparel
• Familiarity with Canva's design ecosystem or similar web-based creative tools
• Background in innovative 3D projects involving new tools, processes, or experimental workflows
• Knowledge of industry trends in 3D visualization and real-time rendering technologies
• Scripting experience (e.g., Python in Blender) for pipeline automation
