Based in Seoul within our Marketing team, you'll be the cultural bridge between Canva's global innovation and the unique needs of Korean users, ensuring every interaction feels intuitively local and delightfully Canva. In this role, you'll identify localisation opportunities, adapt global campaigns for Korean resonance, and provide expert cultural guidance to our Product, Design, and Marketing teams. Partnering with linguists and local stakeholders, you'll craft style guides and tone strategies that capture Canva's playful, empowering voice in Korean. Your analytical skills will drive data-backed improvements, turning insights into hyperlocalised experiences that make Canva feel like home for Korean users. You'll thrive in Canva's flat, collaborative culture where ideas flow freely and success is shared. Comfortable navigating ambiguity, you'll simplify complex challenges, collaborate with engineers on technical details, and inspire designers with cultural context. With your passion for Korean language, culture, and design, you'll champion user needs while contributing to our mission of celebrating global diversity through delightful, localised creativity. We're looking for someone who lives and breathes Korean market dynamics, with experience in localisation, product growth, or content creation. Bonus points for SaaS experience, CAT tools expertise, or design chops. Key Responsibilities

  • Identify key opportunities for localisation improvements tailored to Korean users
  • Collaborate with local Marketing and Product Growth teams on key initiatives
  • Evaluate and adapt global messaging, campaigns, and product experiences for Korean resonance
  • Provide cultural insights and guidance to global Product, Design, and Marketing teams
  • Work with linguists, translators, and local partners to ensure cultural nuance in all Korean-language content
  • Partner with Korean Language Manager to develop style guides and tone of voice strategies
  • Champion the voice of Korean users across Canva's product and marketing experiences
  • Analyze campaign performance and recommend data-driven optimisations for Korean user experiences
  • Contribute to hyperlocalised design experiences that make Canva feel like home for Korean creators
  • Support the Localisation team's mission to delight global users through cultural relevance

Required Qualifications

  • Native-level fluency in Korean with deep understanding of cultural nuances
  • Experience in localisation, internationalisation, or content design for Korean audiences
  • Proven track record in product growth, brand copywriting, or marketing in the Korean market
  • Analytical mindset with ability to evaluate campaign effectiveness and recommend data-driven improvements
  • Comfortable in collaborative environments, comfortable discussing details with engineers and ideas with product managers
  • Proficiency with tech tools including Atlassian project management and basic web development
  • Strong documentation and communication skills for simplifying complex problems
  • Passion for creating intuitive, culturally resonant user experiences

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of product growth strategies and user acquisition in Korea
  • Experience in marketing or advertising within the Korean market
  • Tertiary education in linguistics, literature, or localisation
  • Copywriting experience, ideally with a blog or SaaS product localisation
  • Expertise with CAT tools (Smartling experience highly valued)
