We're seeking a Data Scientist - Product, Features & Growth to embed within our innovative Engineering team, partnering with product managers, designers, and growth experts to supercharge Canva's creative platform. Open to remote across ANZ with our hybrid model, you'll help shape features that delight millions of users worldwide. In this role, you'll leverage data to solve ambiguous problems, design impactful experiments, and craft compelling narratives that drive strategic decisions in our fast-scaling environment. You'll design and analyze A/B tests to optimize design workflows, build scalable dashboards tracking user engagement with creative tools, and forecast growth metrics for features that empower non-designers to create stunning visuals. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you'll turn complex datasets into actionable insights that enhance Canva's magic – from improving content discovery to boosting retention through intuitive features. Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with product, features, and growth teams to influence strategic decisions through data insights
  • Design, execute, and analyze A/B tests and experiments that drive product and business outcomes
  • Build and maintain data models, dashboards, and tooling to scale insights across teams
  • Define and forecast key metrics to track progress and identify growth opportunities
  • Communicate complex findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Instrument events and optimize data pipelines for reliable experimentation
  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to enhance Canva's user experience through data
  • Uplift the data science community through mentorship, best practices, and knowledge sharing
  • Analyze user behavior in design workflows to inform feature prioritization
  • Support growth initiatives by modeling retention, activation, and monetization funnels

Required Qualifications

  • Proven track record of using data to drive impact across products or business units
  • Strong proficiency in writing complex SQL and working with large-scale datasets
  • Experience with experimentation including A/B testing and event instrumentation
  • Strong foundation in statistics or a STEM field
  • Experience with data warehousing and building scalable data models/dashboards
  • Familiarity with key tech metrics like product funnels and growth accounting
  • Bachelor's or higher degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Python or R for data analysis and modeling
  • Background in product analytics or growth teams at high-growth tech companies
  • Experience mentoring data teams or uplifting data best practices
  • Knowledge of design tools or creative industry metrics
  • Advanced forecasting and causal inference expertise
