Job Description

Engineering Manager (FE) - Learning Experience (Remote ANZ)

Location: Team Engineering

Team: Country Wellington / New Zealand

About the Role

Join Canva's Learning Experience team, where we're redefining how the world learns through design. As Engineering Manager (FE) - Learning Experience (Remote ANZ), you'll lead a passionate frontend team igniting creativity for every learner—making Canva fun, accessible, and indispensable for teachers, students, and professionals. In the first half of 2025, we'll launch engaging new features for Courses, Lessons, and interactive elements, boosting visibility and driving long-term retention to evolve Canva into a best-in-class learning platform. In this hands-on leadership role, you'll guide your team in building AI-generated learning content and a revolutionary learning library, collaborating closely with design, product, and data partners in Canva's collaborative culture. Drive technical strategy, mentor engineers through growth conversations, and foster an inclusive, high-performing environment while contributing code to deliver intuitive, scalable experiences that empower educators and spark learner engagement. You'll bring deep frontend expertise (TypeScript/React), leadership experience, and a pragmatic approach to turning ambitious visions into measurable impact. With empathy for users in education and a growth mindset aligned to Canva's mission of democratizing design, you'll thrive in our innovative, flexible ANZ-remote setup—Sydney flagship, Melbourne campus, or co-working spaces. Experience in ed-tech is a bonus, but your passion for seamless UX and team empowerment is key. At Canva, crazy big goals fuel hard work balanced with magic, connection, and fun. Enjoy equity, inclusive parental leave, Vibe & Thrive allowances, flexible options, and a culture celebrating diverse skills. If you're excited to power learning through design, apply now and help shape the future—check lifeatcanva.com for more.
