Job Description

Engineering Manager (FE) - Learning Experience (Remote ANZ)

Location: Team Engineering

Team: Country Sydney / Australia

About the Role

Join the team redefining how the world experiences design at Canva's Learning Experience group. Our mission is to ignite creativity in every learner by creating fun, accessible tools that save teachers and course creators time while driving engagement and long-term retention. In the first half of 2025, we're launching compelling new features for Canva's Courses, Lessons, and interactive elements to make learning irresistibly engaging. As an Engineering Manager (FE) - Learning Experience (Remote ANZ), you'll lead a frontend team building AI-generated learning content and a revolutionary learning library, all while contributing hands-on to deliver pixel-perfect, scalable experiences that empower educators and learners worldwide. In this hands-on leadership role, you'll drive technical strategy, coach engineers toward career growth, and foster a high-performing, inclusive culture within Canva's collaborative, design-obsessed environment. Partnering closely with design, product, and data teams, you'll shape intuitive solutions that align with our goal of evolving Canva into a best-in-class learning platform. Your pragmatic approach will break ambitious ideas into measurable outcomes, ensuring we deliver innovative features that resonate with users in schools, campuses, and workplaces. Canva's innovative culture celebrates curiosity, empowers autonomy, and thrives on cross-functional magic. With flexible Remote ANZ options, equity packages, inclusive parental leave, and a Vibe & Thrive allowance, we support your success in and out of work. If you have strong frontend expertise (TypeScript/React), leadership experience, and a passion for ed-tech, bring your growth mindset to help democratize design and education. We welcome diverse backgrounds—apply if this sparks your creativity!
