Joining the Client Platform group, you'll guide a high-performing team of mobile and frontend engineers, owning cross-platform architecture (navigation, rendering, offline, performance) and uplifting developer experiences through superior tooling and pipelines. You'll partner with engineering, product, and design leaders to define strategy, foster clarity and craft, and build rituals that drive wellbeing and delivery. In our fast-scaling environment, you'll coach talent, scale through others, and ensure our platform enables product teams to ship fast and reliably. You're a technical leader energized by hybrid mobile challenges (Swift, Kotlin, React Native, TypeScript) with a passion for people growth and inclusive teams. Key Responsibilities

• Lead a high-performing team of mobile and frontend engineers delivering hybrid development capabilities at scale
• Own and evolve cross-platform architecture including navigation, rendering, offline support, and performance
• Uplift developer experience through improved tooling, testing pipelines, observability, and local dev flows
• Define technical strategy in collaboration with engineering, product, and design leaders
• Foster a culture of clarity, craft, and continuous improvement within the team
• Build rituals and processes supporting team wellbeing and delivery excellence
• Bridge native mobile and web technologies to enable seamless feature delivery across devices
• Partner with product teams to empower fast, reliable shipping to billions of users
• Drive inclusive practices that enhance Canva's collaborative, design-focused culture
• Mentor engineers in technical excellence and career growth

Required Qualifications

• Experience leading engineering teams in mobile or frontend domains with hybrid or native mobile expertise (Swift, Kotlin, React, React Native, TypeScript)
• Proven track record driving architectural decisions impacting hundreds of developers or millions of users
• Strong technical leadership combined with passion for coaching and people growth
• Demonstrated ability to create clarity in ambiguous environments and scale through others
• Experience fostering high-performing, inclusive, and empowered teams
• Deep commitment to delivery excellence, system health, and long-term maintainability
• Full-time availability for hybrid/remote work in ANZ region (Sydney/Australia base)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building cross-platform infrastructure for iOS, Android, and web at scale
• Background in developer experience improvements (tooling, testing, observability)
• Previous work in design-forward product companies with mobile-first capabilities
• Familiarity with Canva's tech stack or similar creative platform technologies
• Leadership in client-side performance optimization and offline support
