As Global Internal Event Lead reporting to the Head of Vibe, you'll shape and execute our internal global events strategy—from epic milestone celebrations to thoughtful cultural activations that bring Canva's design-forward magic to life. This senior, hands-on leadership role in our Workplace Experience team means leading a talented group of Events & Activations Specialists while partnering with Vibe, Internal Comms, Brand, Finance, and Executive Operations to deliver scalable, meaningful experiences for Canvanauts worldwide. You'll own the full lifecycle of high-impact events, from strategic planning and annual cadence development to flawless execution, ensuring every moment reflects Canva's collaborative, innovative culture. Hands-on where it counts, you'll roll up your sleeves to drive logistics, production, and hybrid delivery while building playbooks, optimizing systems, and measuring ROI through data-driven insights. Collaborating across regions, you'll create consistent yet localized experiences that foster connection in our global, distributed workforce. We're seeking a creative powerhouse with proven experience scaling complex internal events (100–5000+ attendees) across time zones, deep operational expertise, and a passion for mentoring teams. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a global team of Events & Activations Specialists, fostering growth, accountability, and collaboration
  • Own end-to-end delivery of high-impact global internal events aligned with Canva's culture, values, and business objectives
  • Develop and manage the annual cadence and strategic plan for company-wide milestone events and cultural activations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners across Vibe, Internal Comms, Brand, Finance, and Executive Operations to define goals, timelines, budgets, and metrics
  • Oversee implementation and optimization of events management systems, templates, processes, and playbooks
  • Partner with regional Vibe teams to deliver consistent, localized experiences that scale globally
  • Build self-service tools and resources to empower internal teams for smaller activations
  • Manage team capacity, resourcing, vendor relationships, and budget ownership with operational excellence
  • Track event success through data analytics, iterating on strategies to maximize engagement and ROI
  • Infuse Canva's innovative, design-forward spirit into every event experience

Required Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in workplace experience, delivering large-scale internal events for 100–5000+ attendees across multiple regions or time zones
  • Proven track record leading strategy and execution of multiple concurrent events with hands-on involvement
  • Deep expertise in end-to-end events operations including logistics, communications, production, and hybrid/virtual delivery
  • Experience managing budgets, vendors, and complex internal stakeholder relationships
  • Demonstrated success leading and mentoring high-performing events teams
  • Strong data-driven approach to measuring event impact, engagement, and ROI
  • Experience implementing and optimizing events management platforms and processes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in creative or design-focused organizations with emphasis on culture-building experiences
