In this onsite role within our Engineering team and Protective Security Group, you'll support emergency preparedness, investigate incidents, and maintain policies that evolve with our growth. Be the go-to expert for onsite teams and vendors, deliver engaging training, analyze trends, and stay ahead of industry best practices—all while partnering cross-functionally to safeguard our design-focused environment. Your work will ensure our creators can focus on innovation without worry. You'll thrive if you bring security operations experience, policy expertise, and strong communication skills to communicate effectively across diverse teams. Knowledge of regulations like AS 3745-2010 is key, and experience in training or multi-site security is a plus. Key Responsibilities

• Support implementation of Canva’s emergency preparedness, security, and safety incident response programs
• Investigate and report on safety and security incidents with a focus on continuous improvement
• Develop, implement, and maintain campus safety and security policies and procedures
• Serve as day-to-day contact for onsite teams and security vendors on security matters
• Partner to create and deliver safety, security, and emergency response training programs
• Identify and report on security trends using incident reporting systems
• Stay current on industry best practices and emerging trends to enhance processes
• Collaborate with Engineering and Protective Security Group to protect Canva’s people, spaces, and assets
• Conduct post-incident reviews to drive proactive security enhancements
• Support administration of incident reporting and tracking systems

Required Qualifications

• Background in security operations and risk management across multiple sites
• Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining security and safety policies and procedures
• Experience in physical security or safety incident management, including post-incident reviews and reporting
• Knowledge of relevant safety and security regulations (e.g., AS 3745-2010)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences
• Experience supporting emergency preparedness and incident response programs
• Ability to identify security trends and administer incident reporting systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Global security experience across multiple campuses
• Experience delivering security training and awareness programs
• Familiarity with converged security approaches (physical and information security)
• Background in tech or creative industry environments
• Certifications in physical security or emergency management
