Key Responsibilities

• Architect and code production-ready automation services in Python/TypeScript using LangChain, LangGraph, and Canva’s internal platforms
• Transform small prototypes into high-quality production systems secure and resilient for thousands of users
• Fine-tune, evaluate, and integrate LLMs, embeddings, and vector stores; manage full model lifecycle where needed
• Instrument services with comprehensive metrics, tracing, and alerting; lead incident response and continuous improvement
• Collaborate with PMs, designers, and analysts to translate ambiguous business problems into measurable AI-powered solutions
• Embed within Content & Discovery supergroup to automate manual workflows and unlock 10x outcomes
• Prototype rapidly in days, iterate based on feedback, and prove value ahead of formal requirements
• Ensure solutions align with Canva's design-first philosophy and enhance user creativity at scale
• Drive security, compliance, and governance best practices across AI automation initiatives
• Stay ahead of AI advancements to experiment with cutting-edge techniques for content personalization

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience shipping AI or automation solutions that materially reduce manual effort and streamline processes
• Strong software development background with expertise in Python and/or TypeScript
• Experience architecting production-ready services using frameworks like LangChain and LangGraph
• Hands-on experience with fine-tuning, evaluating, and integrating LLMs, embeddings, and vector stores
• Demonstrated ability to instrument services with metrics, tracing, alerting, and own incident response
• Solid understanding of security, compliance, and governance requirements in enterprise settings
• Experience transforming prototypes into secure, resilient production systems at scale
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with Canva's internal platforms or similar design-focused tech stacks
• Background in content discovery, recommendation systems, or personalized search technologies
• Familiarity with full model lifecycle management from experimentation to rollout
• Previous work embedding with cross-functional teams (PMs, designers, analysts) to solve ambiguous problems
• Contributions to open-source AI/ML projects or publications in the field
