About the Role

Join the team redefining how the world experiences design at Canva! We're seeking a Senior Data Scientist - GPTN Region to lead data strategy for our high-growth markets in Germany, Poland, Turkey, and the Netherlands. Based in our vibrant Prague office with a hybrid work model, you'll be the first dedicated analytics voice for GPTN, building from scratch the data foundations that connect local user insights with Canva's global product innovation. In this role, you'll craft compelling stories from data, proactively spot growth opportunities, and partner with marketing, product, and community teams to drive creative impact across diverse cultures. You'll design intuitive dashboards tracking everything from user signups to monetization, own regional KPIs tailored to local nuances, and collaborate with Canva's world-class design and engineering teams to measure how our tools empower creativity. Key Responsibilities

  • Craft clear, actionable narratives from complex data insights to inspire action across product teams, regional leadership, and the company
  • Proactively identify growth bottlenecks, user behavior shifts, or product mismatches in the GPTN region
  • Design and build dashboards from scratch to provide visibility into key GPTN metrics like user growth, retention, monetization, and campaign performance
  • Own the end-to-end GPTN data strategy by defining success targets, frameworks, and KPIs tailored to local market nuances
  • Partner with local GPTN teams (marketing, country managers, community) and global product/data functions to ensure two-way flow of insights
  • Support product and experimentation initiatives by designing and measuring new features, local experiments, and A/B tests
  • Bridge local market insights with global priorities to drive data-informed growth strategies
  • Prioritize high-impact initiatives in ambiguous environments with a bias to action
  • Collaborate closely with Canva's design and engineering teams to enhance user experiences in GPTN markets
  • Measure and optimize the impact of Canva's creative tools on regional user engagement and creativity

Required Qualifications

  • Several years of experience in data analytics, growth, or product analytics roles
  • Strong SQL and Python skills for working independently with large, messy datasets
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional teams (marketing, product, growth, ops) to influence decisions
  • Proven experience building dashboards and tracking frameworks from the ground up
  • Ability to define and track key metrics across the user journey (signups, MAU, retention, monetization)
  • Prior exposure to experimentation and A/B testing frameworks
  • Familiarity with Canva’s data stack (Looker, Snowflake, Mode, Netspring)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in or analyzing European markets
  • Understanding of mobile analytics and behavioral funnels
  • Experience supporting product teams or market localization initiatives
