About the Role

Join the team redefining how the world experiences design at Canva! Hey, hello, g'day! We're building a dedicated LATAM team to serve the unique creative needs of users across the region, and we're seeking a Senior Data Scientist, LATAM to be our first Regional Data Lead. Based in Mexico City (fully remote), you'll shape how we understand users, measure success, and drive data-informed growth that connects local markets with our global product innovation. In our collaborative, design-focused culture, you'll partner with engineering, marketing, product, and community teams to turn data into creative magic. You'll build LATAM's data foundation from scratch—crafting dashboards for user growth, retention, monetization, and campaigns—while owning end-to-end data strategy with KPIs tailored to regional nuances. Act as the bridge between local teams and global functions, proactively spotting opportunities, supporting A/B tests and product experiments, and storytelling insights that inspire action. Leverage AI to amplify your impact, navigating ambiguity to prioritize what moves the needle in our fast-scaling environment. You're a strategic thinker with strong SQL skills, dashboard expertise, and cross-functional influence, excited by LATAM markets and Canva's innovative stack (Looker, Snowflake, Mode, Netspring). Bring your passion for data-driven creativity, hands-on AI experience, and ideally Spanish/Portuguese proficiency to help localize our platform with care. At Canva, we celebrate diverse skills and backgrounds—apply even if you don't match every bullet. Interviews are virtual, with AI-powered challenges reflecting our tech-forward approach. Check lifeatcanva.com for more on our fun, equitable culture!
