As a Senior Graphic Design Reviewer (AI Quality) on a 6-month full-time contract in our Sydney Design team, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring our generative AI outputs meet Canva's world-class visual standards. Working in a hybrid model, you'll collaborate with cross-functional partners to review, test, and refine AI designs across presentations, videos, social graphics, print, and beyond—applying your expert eye to layouts, hierarchy, spacing, colour, typography, and tone. In this dynamic role, you'll run structured testing workflows, flag subtle design failures that automation misses, and translate your judgment into actionable feedback for engineers and content teams. You'll help track issues, validate fixes, and contribute to quality frameworks that scale beautiful, on-brand AI experiences for millions of users. Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI-generated designs across multiple formats, assessing layouts, visual hierarchy, spacing, colour usage, typography, and overall tone
• Execute structured testing workflows to validate generative quality in presentations, videos, social media graphics, print materials, and more
• Identify and flag design logic failures, template structure gaps, and visual inconsistencies missed by automated checks
• Provide clear, actionable, structured feedback that engineering and content teams can implement effectively
• Track identified issues, retest fixes after implementation, and verify readiness for public release
• Contribute to the development of quality frameworks and rubrics defining excellence in AI-generated design at scale
• Collaborate with the GenAI Studio team to refine best-practice guidelines for consistent, on-brand AI experiences
• Surface design patterns, edge cases, and opportunities for systemic improvements in generative outputs
• Partner with product and design leads to ensure AI features align with Canva's visual standards
• Maintain meticulous documentation of reviews, tests, and outcomes to support iterative improvements

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in graphic design, brand design, or product design environments
• Proven expertise in visual design principles including layout, hierarchy, spacing, colour theory, and typography
• Strong ability to articulate design feedback clearly and constructively for engineering and content teams
• Experience with design critique processes and quality assurance workflows
• Comfortable with structured, repetitive evaluation tasks while maintaining high attention to detail
• Portfolio demonstrating high-quality design work across digital formats (presentations, social, video, print)
• Availability for full-time engagement over a 6-month contract period
