About the Role

Join the team redefining how the world experiences design. At Canva, our Marketing team in Sydney is seeking an SEO Lead - English Markets to drive organic growth across our Visual Suite, including Docs, Presentations, Video, Websites, Whiteboards, and more. You'll lead strategy for English markets within the Logged Out Experience (LOX) Group, guiding a team of SEO Managers to 10x Total Sessions and optimize for organic MAU growth. Reporting to the Head of SEO, you'll shape how millions discover Canva daily across 70,000+ pages, collaborating closely with Product, Growth, Content, Engineering, and Design leads to connect SEO to our biggest growth bets. In this hands-on leadership role, you'll own the English SEO roadmap, coach your team toward scalable impact, and partner with the i18n SEO Lead for global alignment. Expect to drive initiatives across user segments—from education and SMEs to enterprise workflows—while scaling operations through AI and automation. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead English SEO strategy and execution, owning the roadmap, prioritisation, and delivery across major product surfaces and user segments
  • Coach and grow a team of SEO Managers, developing talent toward ownership and long-term impact
  • Collaborate with i18n SEO Lead to align strategies and maintain consistency across global markets
  • Drive organic growth coverage across diverse user journeys from education and SMEs to enterprise and personal use cases
  • Partner with Product, Content, Design, Engineering, and Ops leaders to embed SEO into key initiatives and influence roadmaps
  • Scale SEO systems and workflows using automation, AI, and process improvements for greater velocity and quality
  • Define success metrics, analyze performance data, and communicate progress to leadership stakeholders
  • Champion SEO best practices, industry innovation, and a culture of experimentation and collaboration
  • Ensure SEO strategies enhance user experience, content quality, and Canva's design-first product sensibility
  • Monitor industry trends and evolve strategies to maintain competitive organic advantage

Required Qualifications

  • 8–10+ years of in-house or agency SEO management experience with proven record of growing SEO impact in large-scale or multi-product environments
  • Experience leading SEO strategy and execution across multiple verticals and product surfaces
  • Proven track record of coaching and developing high-performing SEO teams
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration experience with Product, Engineering, Content, and Design teams
  • Demonstrated ability to define success metrics, analyze performance data, and drive measurable organic growth
  • Experience scaling SEO operations through automation, AI, and streamlined workflows
  • Global mindset with experience aligning strategies across international markets
