As a Workplace Technology Engineer at our flagship Sydney campus, you'll build, operate, and improve the invisible infrastructure powering our design-focused offices—from seamless networks and immersive AV systems to secure access controls. In this Build → Operate → Improve role, you'll contribute to exciting office fitouts and rollouts, troubleshoot real-time issues, and automate workflows that keep our hybrid workspaces running flawlessly, all while embedding Canva's innovative spirit into every system. You'll partner with senior engineers on automation projects, respond to AV/network alerts, and document solutions that empower teams to focus on designing the future. Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to office fitouts, system upgrades, and rollouts across networks, AV, and security systems
  • Configure, install, and test equipment including Wi-Fi access points, Zoom Rooms, and access control systems
  • Partner with senior engineers to deliver automation workflows and system integrations
  • Monitor and respond to incidents or alerts across AV, networks, and security platforms
  • Troubleshoot technical problems and collaborate with vendors or internal teams for resolution
  • Document fixes, playbooks, and runbooks to ensure long-term system reliability
  • Suggest and implement improvements to system reliability, usability, and automation
  • Share technical learnings with the team and build stakeholder confidence in workplace systems
  • Build trusted relationships with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth office operations
  • Leverage AI tools to optimize workflows and drive greater operational impact
  • Support Canva's global campus growth by designing scalable workplace infrastructure

Required Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience in IT, AV, networking, or security operations
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise networks such as Meraki or similar platforms
  • Proficiency in AV and conferencing systems like Zoom Rooms, Crestron, or Q-SYS
  • Experience with security and access control systems including Verkada, Kisi, Openpath, or Doorbird
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical problems and implement practical solutions
  • Experience using AI tools in technical workflows to enhance efficiency and impact
  • Strong documentation skills for creating playbooks, runbooks, and knowledge sharing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with automation and workflow tools such as Workato, scripting, or APIs
