Capgemini is seeking a seasoned Automotive Technical Engagement Director to lead software engineering and product delivery for embedded automotive systems in Bangalore. The role involves managing global teams of 50-300+, overseeing site operations, driving business growth in APAC and European markets, and ensuring high-quality deliverables for Tier 1 clients. With 15-25 years of experience, the director will focus on process excellence, talent development, and strategic partnerships in automotive, semiconductor, and telecom domains.

🎯 Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and scale engineering teams (50–300+), driving delivery for platform software, application software, and validation/integration projects
  • Oversee site operations, including P&L, feasibility studies, market research, and formation of new legal entities; build and operationalize global capability centers
  • Manage end-to-end delivery for complex projects in automotive, powertrain, lighting, and semiconductor domains; ensure milestones are met for cost, quality, and deliverables
  • Implement and maintain best practices in Agile, ASPICE, ISO 26262 (Functional Safety), and CI/CD methodologies; drive process improvements and technical competency development
  • Lead account mining, proactive proposals, RFPs, and strategic partnerships with universities, training institutes, and outsourcing companies
  • Identify and execute cost reduction strategies across employment, training, and project execution
  • Recruit, mentor, and retain top talent; conduct technical competency gap analysis and drive capability development initiatives
  • Manage key customer relationships, drive account growth, and ensure high-quality deliverables for Tier 1 clients in automotive and semiconductor sectors
  • Apply scientific methods to analyse and solve software engineering problems
  • Responsible for the development and application of software engineering practice and knowledge in research, design, development, and maintenance
  • Exercise original thought and judgement to supervise the technical and administrative work of other software engineers
  • Build skills and expertise in software engineering discipline to meet standard expectations
  • Collaborate and act as a team player with other software engineers and stakeholders
