We're looking for a visionary and hands-on AV Engineering DevOps Manager to lead our team in revolutionizing how we design, deploy, and maintain our audio-visual and Unified Communications (UC) systems. In this role, you'll be a key player in shaping the future of our AV infrastructure, driving efficiency and innovation through DevOps principles.
You will be responsible for defining the technical strategy and standards for our enterprise collaboration systems. You will architect complex system deployments at scale, and ensure our technology stack remains at the forefront of the industry by integrating emerging technologies like AI, machine learning, and automation.

Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Mentorship
  • Champion engineering best practices, including code reviews, comprehensive testing, and detailed documentation.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers, raising the overall bar for engineering quality and execution across the team.

  • Lead technical discussions, architectural decisions, and design reviews for complex platform initiatives.

  • Platform Strategy, Innovation & Architecture
  • Define, communicate, and execute the technical vision and roadmap for the platform engineering function, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

  • Innovate with AI and Automation: Lead the charge in implementing AI and machine learning to optimize AV systems. This includes leveraging AI for predictive maintenance, intelligent room scheduling, and improving user experience. Pioneer the use of APIs and webhooks to create custom integrations with third-party systems and IoT devices, extending AV functionality beyond its traditional scope.

  • Manage Technology Standards: Develop, maintain, and enforce our company's AV standards. You'll also be responsible for managing and testing beta hardware and new room system technologies to ensure we're adopting the best solutions. You will develop and maintain a forward-looking technology roadmap for AV, control automation, evaluating new hardware, software, and cloud-based solutions.

  • Maintain a deep understanding of platform architecture, its components, and their interdependencies, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.

  • Collaborate closely with product managers, security, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust, technical solutions.

  • Operational Excellence & Process Management
  • Drive Process Improvement: Implement DevOps methodologies to streamline our AV engineering processes. You'll focus on automation, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), and infrastructure as code to improve speed and quality. Develop and implement standardized programming practices and quality assurance procedures.

  • Plan and execute platform engineering projects, tracking progress, identifying risks, and ensuring timely delivery.

  • Establish and enforce standardized procedures and methodologies for identifying, escalating, and resolving complex technical issues, including best practices for root cause analysis (RCA).

  • Oversee the management of software and firmware release processes, including planning, testing, and executing upgrades and maintenance tasks.

  • Lead critical incident response efforts, ensuring timely resolution and conducting post-incident reviews to drive continuous operational improvement.

  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for platform health, stability, and system performance, generating reports to demonstrate value and identify areas for improvement.

  • Technical Governance & Collaboration
  • Serve as the primary liaison with third-party vendors for platform support, escalation, and obtaining feedback for product improvements.

  • Act as the primary owner for the Technology Owned Business Application, accountable for data quality of configuration item (CI) attributes and responsible for initiating the Launch Review process and completing Non-Functional Requirement (NFR) assessments.

  • Develop and maintain a knowledge base of known issues, solutions, and troubleshooting guides, promoting knowledge sharing within the organization.

  • Basic Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification

  • At least 6 years of experience using build and deployment tools (Jenkins, GitHub, or Artifactory)

  • At least 4 years of experience with AWS
