You will provide thought leadership to identify and engage key community leaders in creating new approaches to pressing community needs.
You will be a critical go-to person for community leaders to help solve those needs.
You’ll conduct research and market scans to identify, analyze, and vet possible partners across a wide variety of community organizations including social and nonprofit organizations, activists, influencers, small business leaders, policymakers, CDFIs and other funding organizations or in-market financial services providers across the Chicago market and beyond.
You’ll create and manage critical relationships with those players to understand how Capital One shows up in our communities relative to how we are supporting community needs and moving the needle on socioeconomic mobility.
You will work collaboratively with colleagues across the entire enterprise to monitor and evaluate risks.
You will create presentations and reports to bring market insights to CI&I, External Affairs, and other business lines to inform where, how and why Capital One makes market investments that advance its mission.
You’ll partner closely with your market team, your peers on our analytics program team, and other business lines to write proposals for new market investments.
You’ll manage and evaluate the relationships with the existing portfolio of Chicago community partners and their associated grants. You’ll ensure alignment to the investment strategy and review grant applications.
You’ll lead the Chicago Market President Network strategy by being a conduit between executives and community, supporting the sharing of business critical updates and connecting associates to Capital One’s mission.
You’ll oversee and deliver reporting for your region to monitor Capital One’s community presence, sentiment, and the extent to which we are mobilizing COF resources (time, talent, dollars) to the place of most compelling community need.
You’ll tell the story of Capital One’s Chicago investment strategy.

Bachelor’s degree or military experience
At least 4 years of experience in project management, process management, project delivery, or any combination of the three
At least 4 years of experience managing products or programs within community impact, public affairs, external engagement, or social impact
At least 2 years of experience working in a for-profit company
Project Management Professional (PMP), Lean, Agile, or Six Sigma certification
At least 5 years of experience working with nonprofits or startups on large-scale social impact projects
At least 3 years of experience in budget management
Experience working in financial services, technology, government, nonprofit or other regulated industries
Proven ability to assess product or program effectiveness through data analysis and performance metrics
Experience expanding products or programs across diverse business sectors or geographical regions
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a focus on clarity, persuasion, and data-driven storytelling
80,000 - 135,000 USD / yearly
