Overview

The Luxury Travel team at Capital One is seeking a dynamic Senior Associate, Business Development, to support the growth and success of its luxury travel program. This role is perfect for someone with a passion for luxury travel and a desire to drive premium brand awareness through B2B experiential marketing, sponsorships, and brand activations. The role is only open to candidates with prior experience in premium events or other relevant luxury travel industry experience.The Senior Associate, Business Development, will be supporting the planning and execution of luxury travel events and B2B initiatives. This role offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate closely with external luxury travel partners, internal stakeholders, and external vendors to help elevate Capital One Travel as an industry leader within the luxury travel space. The ideal candidate for the position will be responsible for facilitating the event planning process with superior organizational skills, a high level of professionalism, partner collaboration and willingness to handle planning and administrative details of the event. Responsibilities:
  • Support strategy, planning and execution of trade shows, conferences, events and experiential programming from end-to-end

  • Support B2B sponsorship strategy and contract negotiations

  • Create and maintain travel schedule for industry events and trade show participation to build business partnerships and keep top of mind awareness

  • Establish and maintain trusted relationships with key business drivers & deliver immediate, sustainable and measurable results

  • Assist in researching and analyzing the travel and hospitality industry to identify and prioritize target partners

  • Manage project timelines, event calendars, creative deliverables, project wrap-up reports and more

  • Partner with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Brand Sponsorships, Dining, Entertainment and PR to execute events

  • Collaborate with creative/experiential partners to ensure program is delivering on brief

  • Support Business Development efforts

  • Basic Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent Certification

  • At least 1 year of experience in a business development position within the luxury travel or hospitality industry

  • At least 2 years of experience in sponsorships, premium events, or experiential marketing


  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 3+ years of experience and a successfully proven track record in B2B sales, sponsorships, and business development within the luxury travel or hospitality industry

  • Strong project management, verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong relationship building skills and proven success influencing Partners, Agencies, and Vendors

  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
