Are you ready to work on the front line of a top 10 Bank? As a Senior Risk Associate in the Commercial Risk Office at Capital One you’ll be responsible for working with business partners to identify and mitigate potential risks to Capital One. Senior Risk Associates at Capital One are the front line of defense to ensure our company remains stable and profitable.
Senior Risk Associates at Capital One are highly motivated Risk Management professionals with excellent organizational and communication skills. They have a high level of exposure across lines of business and have the opportunity to create and implement innovative solutions to identify and mitigate potential risks.
As a Senior Risk Associate in the Commercial Risk Office at Capital One, you will work with business partners to identify and mitigate potential risks to Capital One. You will operate at the intersection of business, cyber, and technology to manage access and identity risks, as well as have a direct impact on how the Commercial division measures and manages risks associated with its portfolio of applications. This role requires you to be a motivated professional with excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. You will build win-win partnerships with multiple stakeholders while managing change in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Support the development and execution of the identity and access risk framework and assist in the identification and treatment of risks to inform management decisions. This role will act as a key liaison to translate enhanced enterprise requirements, understand associated risks, and effectively communicate these to various partners, including technology teams, while monitoring status and driving initiatives to successful completion.

  • Perform risk assessments, data analysis, and execute the risk assessment and remediation program governance on behalf of the Commercial business. Proactively identify risks and trends and manage tasks related to proactive risk management initiatives to reduce residual risk within the business. Support the governance of risk objects (risks, issues, mitigation plans) throughout their lifecycle, including tracking documentation and ensuring timely follow-up.

  • Partner with business, cyber, and technology teams to assess risks and identify opportunities for control/process implementation and automation.

  • Provide support and input for IAM risk advice and discussions with stakeholders. Collaborate effectively to develop tailored, high-quality solutions while actively driving efforts to simplify processes and achieve maximum operational efficiency.

  • Maintain many simultaneous workstreams managed through an Agile Methodology.

  • Prepare presentations for both team and executive level reporting. Communicate scope, issues, risks, and recommendations to management (written and oral).

  • Use analytical skills to identify trends and opportunities to improve the risk management framework and audit and exam readiness. Maintain an up-to-date industry and technical expertise in relevant areas of risk.

  • Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Military experience

  • At least 2 years of Financial Services or Risk Management experience

  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 2 years of experience in Cyber Risk or Identity and Access Risk

  • Basic knowledge of SQL, Google Sheet, QuickSight, and Tableau
