The Category Insights Manager - Snacks role is a pivotal position within PepsiCo UK's Business Intelligence team. Reporting to the Business Intelligence Lead, you will spearhead the understanding of category and business performance for our high-performing Snacks division. This analytically demanding role involves harnessing consumer and market data from sources like Nielsen and Kantar to uncover deep insights, crafting compelling narratives for executive audiences, and translating complex data into actionable recommendations.
You'll thrive in this role if you possess a strong analytical mindset, the ability to manage multiple priorities based on importance, urgency, and complexity, and a passion for linking macro trends to strategic business actions. Collaborate with insights teams, commercial partners, and offshore analytics groups to empower decision-making across the organisation. Lead the monthly review of external business performance, preparing content on category growth, market share, and competitor dynamics. Distill market data into simple, actionable messages and present to the Executive leadership team, including GM, Commercial, Finance, Marketing, and NRM leaders. Focus on 'so what' implications and follow-up actions, turning executive questions into briefs and coordinating analyses with stakeholders.
Own the medium- to long-term category narrative, leading QBR compilations that integrate macro and consumer trends. Coordinate insights across teams, deliver overarching narratives with implications for PepsiCo, and support annual Integrated Commercial Planning (ICP). Provide expertise for key presentations like Anchor Market letters and global updates.
Consolidate future outlooks for the Snacks category, owning market and share forecasting grounded in consumer insights. Serve as the authority for growth projections, input into Global long-term processes (PGM), and adapt approaches for Annual Operating Plans (AOP).
Enhance consumer centricity by leading a roadmap of in-depth BI studies, such as competitor deep dives and sub-category analyses. Collaborate with Consumer and Strategic Insights teams to deliver holistic stories informing brand strategies.
Support the Business Intelligence Lead in establishing best practices for data-driven decisions, partnering with agencies and offshore teams to build empowering tools.
To excel as Category Insights Manager - Snacks, candidates should hold a degree in Business, Marketing, Analytics, Economics, or a related discipline. A minimum of 5 years' experience in category insights, business intelligence, or commercial analysis within the FMCG or food and beverage sector is essential, with proven proficiency in handling Nielsen, Kantar, and similar data sources.
Key requirements include exceptional analytical skills to dissect business performance, strong storytelling abilities for executive communications, and project management expertise to handle complex agendas. Experience presenting to senior stakeholders, forecasting market trends, and collaborating cross-functionally is crucial.
