The BCP Sanford facility currently has an opening for a 1st Shift Logistics Production Manager. Caterpillar’s Logistics Production Managers lead teams and supervise people to maximize efficiency in quality, velocity and cost from receipt to point of use.

What you can look forward to in this role:

• Monitor and improve shop floor safety, aggressively eliminating unsafe processes
• Assures fixtures, tooling and processes are followed to meet production schedules
• Determines priorities and sequences of jobs
• Schedules and prioritizes constrained resources, and adjusts staff to meet flow and customer requirements
• Determine and execute disciplinary action when appropriate
• Ensure production material is procured and distributed to meet production schedules
• Increases production efficiency through continuous improvement and waste elimination
• Determine overtime needs and priorities when resources are insufficient.
• Ensures preventive maintenance is performed according to schedule
• Identifies and leads the deployment of workforce training
• Actively deploys section value stream improvements using Lean Manufacturing and 6 Sigma
• Develop and deploy standard work for each work area
• Practices and coaches Caterpillar Production System (CPS) guiding principles

A successful candidate in this role will showcase their skills in:

• Manufacturing Safety: Knowledge of manufacturing safety; ability to identify work-related hazards and perform necessary activities to meet regulatory requirements for the safety and protection of workers, environment and site.
• Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
• Planning and Organizing: Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way.
• Production Training: Knowledge of approaches, tools and techniques for delivering formal and informal training on the safe and efficient operation of production machinery; ability to conduct effective formal and situation-specific training.

• Thorough knowledge of logistics processes, equipment and tools
• Demonstrates critical thinking, analytical skills, initiative
• Ability to collaborate at various levels of the organization across multiple functions
• Demonstrates knowledge of order to delivery, engineering and/or manufacturing principles

The primary location for this position is Sanford, NC.

Summary Pay Range:

$87,480.00 - $131,280.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
