Job Description:

Caterpillar has exciting opportunities for business leaders who want to be challenged, make an impact, and are interested in progressing through a number of managerial assignments. We have an exciting role open within GBS RTR for an accounting Manager for the record-to-report function within Caterpillar’s Global Business Services team, and has fiduciary responsibilities for complete, accurate, and timely financial reporting for the entities in scope (+/- 15 ledgers in Switzerland, Luxembourg, UK and Slovakia). Total annual sales for the entities in scope is approximately ~20bn USD.

This role will encourage you to continue to demonstrate and develop your leadership skills, utilizing excellent communication, and financial analysis skills. You will manage a team of 2 accounting professional in Geneva as well as support personnel in the RTR Center of Excellence and COE in India.

What You Will Do:

• Oversight for US GAAP reporting: Monthly legal entity financial closing; journal entry and account reconciliation review/approval/oversight; monthly, quarterly and annual reporting to Corporate Accounting

• Participate in GBS projects including system deployments, regulatory compliance, and continuous process improvement & standardization initiatives

• SOX compliance and coordination of PWC and internal audits.

• Provide accounting guidance for the India Managed Service Provider

• Act as an essential partner and financial advisor to the CSARL Tax and Treasury groups. Business support to other internal customers.

What You Have:

• This position requires a strong background in financial accounting, US and local GAAP reporting and team management.

• Knowledge of the Caterpillar organization, its products, policies and procedures is also desired.

• Strong analytical skills are required to perform detailed financial analysis and prepare strategic plans.

• It is strongly preferred that the incumbent has credentialed expertise (CPA, CMA or equivalents) and solid practical experience involving technical accounting and reporting issues.

• The position typically requires a professional degree or certification requiring several years of full-time study after a college degree.

• In addition, 6 - 8 or more years of progressively responsible job-related experience are typically required.

• Excellent interpersonal skills are required in order to deal with sensitive issues, develop others, or persuade others inside and outside the department to take specific action

Additional information:

A valid Swiss work permit or Swiss or EU-25/EFTA citizenship is required for this position.
