Role and Responsibility
- Supporting projects to deploy automated systems for manufacturing processes, providing subject matter expertise for programming, debugging, and troubleshooting robotic and automated systems.
- Providing technical expertise for Robotic and automated systems’ programming, Write, modify, and debug Fanuc/UR/ABB robot programs and PLC/HMI/Servo to meet production requirements and improve efficiency.
- Providing troubleshooting for Robotic and automated systems, diagnose and troubleshoot issues with robotic systems, AGVs including mechanical, electrical, and programming problems and work with manufacturers to resolve these issues.
- Work closely with MEs and Production team to identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
- Work with the maintenance team to conduct repairs on robots and AGVs as needed.
- Provide basic operation/troubleshoot training to line operators, maintenance and MEs.
- Other duties assigned by Caterpillar management from time to time.
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 1+ years of related experience
- Strong technical aptitude with a focus on robotics, automation, and mechatronics.
- Experience programming and integrating robots, such as FANUC, ABB, KUKA or Co-bots into assembly processes/systems.
- AGV Programming and experience is best.
- Intermediate proficiency computer skills with experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
