We have an exciting opportunity for a Product Supply NPI Professional to join our Large Power Systems team to support Caterpillar large engine production at our Kiel facility.

What You Will Do:

  • Execute the planning, coordinating, governing and reporting procurement‘s participation in the New Product Introduction (NPI) process.

  • Provide leadership for the NPI activities within procurement, including select sources taken from the category strategies and resource management decisions.

  • Monitor and report NPI progress, holding NPI & design teams accountable for meeting quality and timeliness of requirements, and to assist the product group in managing procurement related capital.

  • Work closely with operations and product development in creating a supply chain for a new product.

  • Research and assess existing and potential suppliers; making recommendations on supplier selection. Drive Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VAVE) through cost modeling, design for manufacturability, and leveraging suppliers’ capabilities.

What You Have (Key Skills/Experience Required):

  • Procurement: Expertise in buying and procurement; ability to align with organizational strategies and practices, and utilize tools for acquiring goods, supplies, equipment, and services essential for business operations.

  • Supplier Management: Understanding of processes and methods to effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers of raw materials or product components; capability to apply relevant experience and skills in practice.

  • Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring optimal use of technical and administrative resources to achieve objectives.

  • New Product Development (NPD): Familiarity with methodology, processes, and strategies for new product development; ability to design and implement an NPD strategy that generates a range of products, services, and value propositions aligned with the organization’s overall marketing and business goals.

  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.

  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

  • Teamwork: Knowledge of the necessity and value of teamwork; with ability to work cooperatively towards shared goals and being supportive of others at all levels.

  • Degree or equivalent experience desired.

  • Very good German (at least C1) and very good English skills (at least B2).
