Role Overview

As a Chemist/Microbiologist at PepsiCo's Riyadh plant in Al Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, you will play a critical role in upholding the highest standards of product quality and food safety. This full-time position ensures all manufactured products meet PepsiCo specifications and regulatory requirements, preventing the release of non-conforming items. You will implement quality systems, monitor audits, and maintain a safe lab environment. With authority to hold/reject materials, enforce GMP, and stop production lines, this role demands precision, independence, and a commitment to excellence in the food and beverage sector.

Key Responsibilities

Your daily impact will include:

• Performing analysis on finished goods, raw materials, and packaging to release only conforming items and isolate non-conformers per quality policies.
• Participating in regulatory inspections, monthly food safety audits, and implementing findings.
• Conducting sensory evaluations, monitoring production operators, and entering data into SPC sheets.
• Issuing timely reports via SAP, initiating holds/releases, and coordinating CAPA with teams.
• Maintaining lab equipment, calibration, and 5S housekeeping while adhering to EHS standards.
• Supporting in-market evaluations, proficiency tests, complaint investigations, and developmental projects.
• Training colleagues and verifying production/warehouse quality concerns.

Shift Leadership

Manage shift activities independently, enforce GMP plant-wide, and take decisive action on non-compliances to safeguard PepsiCo's reputation.

Qualifications & Requirements

To succeed, you need:

• A Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Science, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in quality control labs within the food and beverage industry.
• Strong understanding of GMP, HACCP, food safety standards, and regulatory compliance.
• Technical skills in microbiological/chemical analysis, sensory testing, and lab instrumentation.
• Excellent communication for cross-functional coordination and reporting.
• Ability to work shifts, handle high-pressure environments, and commit to safety protocols.

Prior experience with SAP, SPC, and CAPA processes is highly desirable. Arabic and English proficiency is advantageous for the Riyadh location.
