Your Impact

 

As the Account Executive of Portfolio Sales within the Cisco Public Federal Defense Team, you will serve as the primary customer contact and sales strategy lead for Defense in Germany. This role focuses on achieving sales targets and cultivating long-term customer relationships. You will be responsible for selling Cisco products, solutions, and services to BWI (the service provider for the German Armed Forces) and its ecosystem. Success requires effective teamwork within a complex environment that involves direct contractual relationships, multi-domain infrastructure, and political considerations. Technical expertise and innovative solution development are crucial for success.

 

In this job you will:

 

  • Cultivate enduring relationships across all levels of the account, by demonstrating authenticity and reliability. Prioritize exceptional customer experiences to build and maintain customer trust.

  • Collaborate with Systems Engineers, Cisco teams, and partners to identify opportunities for innovative solutions and product/service sales. Maintain close communication with Business Units to align on critical technical requirements. Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve agreed-upon milestones, timelines, and sales targets.

  • Provide accurate business metrics, monthly forecasts, weekly commitments, and pipeline development reports.

  • Manage expenditures effectively to adhere to budgetary constraints. Operate within a high-touch/direct customer interaction model and proactively identify and assess potential shifts in opportunities, market dynamics, and customer needs that may influence overall revenue objectives.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Demonstrated field-based customer sales experience and success in a high-technology environment. Proven ability to negotiate, close deals, and manage complex opportunities and customer engagements.

  • Strong business acumen and an entrepreneurial mindset. Comfortable with solutions selling, financial concepts, and identifying customer needs.

  • Experience in managing direct sales strategies and aligning with channel partners.

  • Demonstrated success in exceeding sales targets, preferably with Cisco architectures. Ability to match customer needs with state-of-the-art technology solutions and partners to deliver them

  • You have a solid understanding of legal contracts and able to leverage and engage internal resources such as Marketing, Technology Experts, Services and others

  • Fluency in English and German both, in speaking and writing

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of Cisco’s technologies – ideally a deeper understanding of DC, Security and WAN technologies - Service Provider know-how can be advantageous

  • Team player, with proven ability to manage by influence

  • Strong skills in strategic planning, customer relations and retention, contract development and negotiation, support operations and business management

  • Proven track record of collaboration across multiple organizations - excellent communication skills

  • Ability to drive change in complex environments - must be organized and self-motivated.
