Engineering Product Manager – Enterprise Security

Splunk, a Cisco company, is building a safer and more resilient digital world with an end-to-end full stack platform made for a hybrid, multi-cloud world. Leading enterprises use our unified security and observability platform to keep their digital systems secure and reliable. Come help organizations be their best, while you reach new heights with a team that has your back.

Job Summary:

As a Principal Product Manager for Splunk Enterprise Security (ES), you will define and deliver the core SIEM capabilities that security teams depend on to detect, investigate, and respond to threats. You will serve as a technical leader and customer advocate, driving the product roadmap through deep engagement with practitioners, detection engineers, and security leaders across industries.

This role requires a blend of technical depth, domain expertise, and a passion for working directly with customers. You’ll collaborate closely with engineering, UX, threat research, and field teams to bring customer-driven features to life and ensure Splunk ES continues to lead the SIEM market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Product Leadership: Lead the design and delivery of sophisticated SIEM capabilities — including triage and investigation workflow, and automation and response integrations.

  • Customer Engagement: Act as the voice of the customer by engaging directly with enterprise security teams to understand operational workflows, sophisticated SOCs, and investigation/response challenges. Build long-term relationships with power users, security architects, and CISOs.

  • End-to-End Use Case Ownership: Drive analyst-centric workflows for threat detection, triage, investigation, and response. Ensure seamless integration across the Splunk security portfolio, including SOAR, SAA, and AI/ML features.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Engineering and UX on technical design and delivery. Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Support, and Customer Success to ensure alignment on messaging, enablement, and customer adoption.

  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Use telemetry, usage analytics, and feedback loops to prioritize investments and measure success.

  • Competitive & Market Intelligence: Stay ahead of market trends, customer needs, and competitor moves. Translate those insights into product opportunities and strategic differentiators.

  • Evangelism and Thought Leadership: Represent Splunk at customer briefings, webinars, industry events, and threat research discussions. Champion customer use cases and influence internal partners with real-world context.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Security Operations Expertise: Proven experience in security operations, with a deep understanding of threat detection, incident response, and security information and event management (SIEM) systems.

  • Proven Product Management Experience: Extensive experience in product management roles, preferably within the cybersecurity domain, demonstrating a track record of successful execution to bring security products to market.

  • Strong Customer Orientation: Skilled at working directly with technical customers, understanding their environment, and translating needs into actionable requirements.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: Able to convey technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences — from detection engineers and architects to executive partners.

  • Execution and Ownership: Strong organizational skills, with the ability to drive cross-functional initiatives and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

  • Preferred: Familiarity with Splunk platform capabilities (e.g., Search Processing Language, data onboarding, dashboards, data models) and technical expertise around Splunk Security portfolio (e.g., Enterprise Security, SOAR, SAA, TIM, UBA).

Why Join Splunk?

At Splunk, we’re solving the world’s most ambitious problems in data and security. You'll be part of a collaborative and inclusive team that values innovation, transparency, and impact.
