Meet the Team 

Webex Data Analytics Platform (WAP) engineering organization is responsible for developing the big data platform at Webex. The platform forms the base on which other teams, including the WAP team, develop their analytics and data pipelines.

We are looking for a hands-on Software Engineer to join a high-impact data engineering team with a focus on developing data products and features by leveraging the underlying data analytics platform.

Your Impact 

• Build high-performant, highly scalable, complex, and distributed systems – end to end.
• Contribute to a future-ready, high-quality, and performant codebase.
• Share technical solutions and product ideas with the broader team through design review, code review, proof-of-concepts, and show-and-tell sessions.
• Participate and contribute ideas to our technology, algorithms, and products.
• Work closely with development, testing, and various cross-technology teams to design development strategies and plans, followed by designing and writing code reflecting product requirements and functionality.

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 12+ years of experience in developing & maintaining enterprise grade applications.
• Strong experience in Java or GO.
• Adept in using AI tools like Copilot/Cursor/Codex/Windsurf etc., in design/development and testing.
• Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, and SOA architectures.
• Experience in building large, asynchronous task systems, scalable distributed systems with a good understanding of microservices architecture and associated principles.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing services using frameworks like spring, spring boot, drop wizard.
• Experience with Docker or other configuration management tools.
• Hands-on experience with RESTful Webservices and Responsive web design patterns.
• Expertise in Messaging Systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ.
• Familiarity with 12-Factor app development methodology and guiding principles.
