Meet the Team

In this dynamic, customer-centric position, you'll be joining our Canberra-based group where you will closely partner with Account Managers in a pre-sales technical capacity.

You'll serve as a Trusted Technical Advisor to our Defence Portfolio customers, designing solutions to allow our customers to meet their desired outcomes. You will also be presenting Cisco solutions, delivering presentations, conducting technical demonstrations, developing BoMs, and running Proof of Concept activities. 

You will collaborate with technical resources, product specialists and Cisco Engineering to acquire in-depth technical and specialist support, and coordinate with Cisco Partners and Cisco CX to assist across different stages of customer's lifecycle.

You'll become part of high-preforming Solutions Engineering team that encourages and supports one another. In our team, we are passionate about the customer experience and about emerging technologies. We enjoy learning, sharing knowledge, and helping each other succeed.

Your Impact

As a Solutions Engineer :

In this position, you will find opportunities and define solution options that align with customers’ business priorities and strategic objectives. You will articulate the business value of Cisco's solutions, clearly explaining technical concepts to audiences with varying levels of technical expertise, and educate customers on Cisco’s unique differentiation to help generate demand. As a trusted technical advisor, provide an architectural perspective across the entire Cisco product portfolio and serve in a consultative capacity. By utilising both internal and partner resources, you will drive the adoption and successful operation of Cisco solutions. Additionally, continuously develop your technical and consultative skills by embracing best-practices and staying regularly updated on new portfolio acquisitions, solutions, industry trends, and market drivers.


Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical customer-facing experience; preferably pre-sales, or post-sales adoption and implementation. Experience with relevant Cisco technology or solutions of relevant competitors.

  • Customer experience and technical knowledge in at least three of these areas: campus and edge networking and routing, on-prem and cloud security, data Centre, AI and cloud technologies, collaboration, Network management and automation.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, listening and presentation skills.

  • Professional certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE)

You have the appropriate Australian Government Security Vetting Agency clearance for working with Defence and National Security portfolio of customers.

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Pre-sales experience, with the ability to translate technical solutions into business value.

  • Flexible, diligent, and capable of quickly learning various technologies, industry and market trends.

  • Consultative, able to work autonomously, take ownership and accountability on tasks and workstreams. Ability to communicate effectively with diversified audience, technical and non-technical

  • Strong business-acumen, with the ability to understand customer drivers and frame Cisco offerings in terms of business and mission value.
