Role Overview

Cardinal Health is seeking a skilled Clinical Pharmacist for our managed pharmacy at Lemuel Shattuck Hospital in Jamaica Plain, MA. This is a 32-hour per week position, structured as four 8-hour shifts with rotating weekends. Facility hours are Monday-Friday 7:30am-10:00pm and weekends 8:00am-4:30pm. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with medical staff to optimize drug therapy, support daily operations including order verification, inventory management, and dispensing. Key Responsibilities

As a Clinical Pharmacist, your impact will be direct and meaningful. Core duties include reviewing patient medication orders for appropriateness of use, dosage, route, compliance, duplications, interactions, adverse reactions, and age suitability. You'll participate in multi-disciplinary rounds across various patient populations, check technician-prepared medications or prepare them for dispensing, and assist with procurement and inventory. Additional responsibilities encompass precepting pharmacy students, reviewing non-formulary requests, preparing formulary reviews for the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, and leading performance improvement initiatives like therapeutic interchange, renal dosing, and ADR reporting. You'll also engage in Drug Utilization Evaluations, Quality Improvement projects, provide expertise to medical residents, and perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Pharmacy, all while maintaining a professional, courteous environment.
