Key Responsibilities at Datadog

• Model Cloud Expenses: Own comprehensive forecasting for AWS, Azure, GCP, and GPU hosting costs using granular usage data.
• Drive Cost Optimization: Partner with Engineering leaders on variance analysis, capacity planning, and strategic initiatives.
• Build Real-Time Dashboards: Eliminate month-end reporting delays with automated insights for Finance and Engineering executives.
• Track Unit Economics: Define efficiency metrics and execute margin improvement opportunities.
• Manage AI Investments: Oversee financial performance of AI tooling and vendor partnerships aligned with revenue growth.
• Bridge Technical & Financial Worlds: Translate complex roadmaps into executive financial narratives.
• Master BI Tools: Become expert in Pigment, Tableau, Metabase, and cloud cost management platforms.
• Lead Strategic Projects: Analyze business challenges and propose innovative solutions for senior management.
• Implement FinOps Practices: Drive cultural shift toward cloud financial accountability across Engineering teams.

Qualifications & Requirements

• 5+ years experience in Strategic Finance, Cloud Operations, FinOps, or Data Analytics roles
• Proven SQL proficiency working with large datasets to solve complex business problems
• Technical understanding of cloud infrastructure (Compute, Storage, GPUs) and consumption pricing
• Demonstrated history building custom tools/dashboards to eliminate manual processes
• Fluent in both Engineering metrics (utilization, instances) and Finance KPIs (margins, OPEX)
• Clear communicator and collaborative team player with 'can-do' problem-solving attitude
• Bonus: FinOps Certified Practitioner certification
