Banking & Financial Services Consulting
Cognizant’s Banking & Financial Services (BFS) Consulting team is seeking talented consultants with business analysis and digital change delivery experience to work with our ecosystem of clients, alliances, start-ups, and design agencies to deliver the next generation of banking products and experiences. This role provides an opportunity to join a rapidly growing, high energy and entrepreneurial team working with leading Benelux based clients.
Responsibilities:
We are seeking a seasoned consultant with extensive domain expertise in lending processes and a strong record of leadership. The ideal candidate has extensive Business analysis skills, driving strategic proposals, developing comprehensive Points of View (PoVs), and authoring white papers to support business growth and innovation.
Domain Expertise:
Deep understanding of consumer lending domain—preferably with mortgages
Expertise across the full US mortgage lifecycle—from originations, servicing, collections, and receivables to delinquency management, foreclosure, loan securitization, and secondary loan trading.
Experience with financial software or Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) products is a plus.
Business Analysis Skills:
Led requirements gathering sessions with key stakeholders to capture critical business needs.
Comprehensive documentation developed, including Business Requirement Documents (BRD) and Functional Requirement Documents (FRD).
Created detailed As-Is and To-Be process flows that clearly illustrate current operations and future improvements.
Extensive experience in translating requirements into EPICs, user stories, and functional specifications, while working in Agile environments and throughout the SDLC.
Business Development:
Led the preparation and solutioning of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) ensuring strategic alignment with business objectives.
Led the development of compelling Points of View (PoVs) that articulate innovative, strategic recommendations tailored to client challenges.
Authored influential white papers to showcase solutions and emerging industry trends.
Worked closely with diverse teams to ensure proposals and strategic documents were well-aligned with market trends and business goals.
Regularly presented findings, process flows, and strategic recommendations to senior management and key stakeholders, demonstrating a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Leadership & Team Management:
Proven experience in leading and mentoring a team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
Provided strategic direction and continuous performance feedback to ensure the team’s growth and alignment with organizational goals.
Acted as the primary point of contact for leadership, effectively managing cross-functional initiatives and complex stakeholder engagements.
Stakeholder Management & Communication:
Served as a key liaison between business units, technical teams, and external partners to ensure seamless communication and project execution.
Demonstrated strong negotiation and interpersonal skills to effectively manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment.
Independently managed multiple projects simultaneously, monitoring milestones to guarantee timely delivery of key components.

Good understanding of economic or market issues and the ability to interpret their impact on clients
Possess strong interpersonal and teaming skills
Leverage technology to continually learn, improve service delivery and maintain our leading-edge best practices
Strong presentation skills and proficiency in the use of PowerPoint, Word and Excel
