Job Description

As a Cloud Engineer, you will make an impact by designing and implementing cloud solutions that align with our business objectives ensuring optimal performance and security. You will be a valued member of the team and work closely with the Manufacturing & Logistics team.

Job Summary:

Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure and services primarily on Microsoft Azure, including compute, storage, networking, and security components. This role requires a deep understanding of designing, deploying, and managing cloud infrastructure.

In this role, you will:

  • Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure and services primarily on Microsoft Azure, including compute, storage, networking, and security components. Support and manage workloads on AWS and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) as required.
  • Monitor cloud environments for performance, availability, and security; respond to incidents and troubleshoot solutions. Respond to outages, security incidents, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Collaborate with development, security, and business operations teams to support application deployments and cloud adoption initiatives.
  • Plan and execute cloud migration and M&A integration activities.
  • Stay current with cloud technology trends and provide recommendations for improvements and new services.
  • Generate reports on inventory, performance, costs, and security posture.
  • Document cloud architectures, processes, and runbooks.

What you need to have to be considered

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in systems administration, cloud engineering, or a related role.
  • Proven hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in at least one major cloud provider: Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Understanding of cloud architecture and security principles and best practices.
  • Familiarity with database services on cloud platforms (Azure SQL, Amazon RDS, Cloud SQL).
  • Strong knowledge of cloud networking concepts such as VNets, load balancers, and DNS.
  • Familiarity with scripting and automation languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex cloud infrastructure and application issues.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $108,900 to $173,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
