Job Description

Cognizant Technology Solutions is looking for a Lead Data Analyst: Amazon DynamoDB. Join our dynamic team where you will leverage your extensive experience in AWS technologies to design and implement robust cloud solutions and will play a crucial role in optimizing our cloud infrastructure ensuring scalability, reliability and security. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and deliver impactful solutions that align with our company’s goals.

Role: Lead Data Analyst: Extensive experience in Amazon DynamoDB

Location: This is a completely onsite role.

Candidates will need to work from Client’s Palm Beach Gardens, FL office all 5 days a week.

Responsibilities

Data Analyst with strong analytical, technical, and business process skills to support the transformation of operational and analytical workflows onto our Unified Customer Data Platform (UCDP). The ideal candidate will combine hands-on experience with AWS ecosystem tools, NoSQL databases (especially DynamoDB), and data validation through SQL, along with the ability to work closely with business stakeholders to translate operational needs into scalable digital solutions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

· 5–10 years of experience as a Data Analyst, Business Analyst, or hybrid techno[1]functional analyst role.

· Hands-on experience with AWS services and cloud-native data environments.

· Strong experience with NoSQL databases, specifically Amazon DynamoDB (including JSON data interpretation).

· Advanced SQL skills for validation, profiling, and analysis.

· Ability to analyze and map data across heterogeneous systems and align them to a unified platform.

· Experience creating requirements documents, process flows, data mappings, and functional specifications.

· Strong analytical mindset with experience defining KPIs, metrics, and business events.

· Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical teams and non-technical business partners.

Key Responsibilities Business & Functional Analysis

· Work directly with business stakeholders to understand current-state processes, data flows, and operational requirements across customer, billing, metering, or grid related domains.

· Document business processes and develop future-state workflows optimized for UCDP and modern cloud-native architectures.

· Translate functional requirements into detailed data mappings, process models, data specifications, and acceptance criteria.

· Serve as a liaison between business users, engineering teams, and product owners to ensure alignment and clarity across all phases of delivery. Data Analysis, Validation & Profiling

· Perform in-depth data profiling, quality assessments, and data mapping exercises to support the migration and transformation of data into UCDP.

· Write complex SQL queries (Athena, Postgres, Redshift, or equivalent) to validate data completeness, accuracy, consistency, and transformations.

· Conduct KPI creation and event interpretation, helping business teams track operational performance and interpret customer lifecycle events.

· Analyze JSON-based datasets and interpret DynamoDB records, data structures, item collections, and attribute patterns. AWS & NoSQL Data Expertise

· Work with AWS-native services such as S3, DynamoDB, Athena, Glue Catalog, and Lambda-driven event processing.

· Understand DynamoDB concepts, including primary keys, sort keys, GSI/LSI usage, data access patterns, TTL, streams, and JSON-based item modeling.

· Support data ingestion and transformation workflows by validating schema structure, attribute integrity, and business rule application within the cloud ecosystem.

Collaboration & Delivery

· Partner with data engineering teams to define data requirements, transformation logic, and validation rules for new datasets flowing into UCDP.

· Participate in solution design sessions, ensuring data structures and models meet both operational and analytical needs.

· Contribute to testing cycles (functional, UAT, regression) with clear test cases and validation scripts.

· Provide ongoing data insights and support system enhancements through strong understanding of business processes and cloud-native data models.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for the position depends on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.

  • Write complex SQL queries (Athena, Postgres, Redshift, or equivalent) to validate data completeness, accuracy, consistency, and transformations
  • Conduct KPI creation and event interpretation, helping business teams track operational performance and interpret customer lifecycle events
  • Analyze JSON-based datasets and interpret DynamoDB records, data structures, item collections, and attribute patterns
  • Work with AWS-native services such as S3, DynamoDB, Athena, Glue Catalog, and Lambda-driven event processing
  • Understand DynamoDB concepts, including primary keys, sort keys, GSI/LSI usage, data access patterns, TTL, streams, and JSON-based item modeling
  • Support data ingestion and transformation workflows by validating schema structure, attribute integrity, and business rule application within the cloud ecosystem
  • Partner with data engineering teams to define data requirements, transformation logic, and validation rules for new datasets flowing into UCDP
  • Participate in solution design sessions, ensuring data structures and models meet both operational and analytical needs
  • Contribute to testing cycles (functional, UAT, regression) with clear test cases and validation scripts
  • Provide ongoing data insights and support system enhancements through strong understanding of business processes and cloud-native data models
