About the role

As a Mainframe Technical Lead (Hybrid), you will make an impact by designing, developing, and maintaining robust mainframe applications that support critical business operations. You will be a valued member of the Technology & Engineering team and work collaboratively with offshore developers, business analysts, and project stakeholders.

Work model: Hybrid

We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Richmond or Mclean , VA. Regardless of your working arrangement, we are here to support a healthy work-life balance though our various wellbeing programs.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and implementing major components for large projects.
  • Work with clients and need to understand the requirement
  • Convert the requirement into modernization
  • Need to understand and work with modernization from mainframe technologies.
  • Excellent programming skills in mainframe skillets like JCL, COBOL, VSAM, CICS, REXX..
  • Develop and deploy the application need to support the project end -end.

Required Qualifications:

· 8-10 + of experience in Software Development with hands-on experience in Mainframe Skillset.

· Excellent programming skills in mainframe skillets like JCL, COBOL, VSAM, CICS, REXX.

· Good exposure on trying to modernize the mainframe application

· Expertise in supporting the application

Salary and other compensation

Applications will be accepted until December 4th, 2025.

The annual salary for this position is between $63,000 – $99,500, depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
