About the role
As a Quality Engineering (QE) Specialist - P&C Insurance, you will make an impact by ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions for personal lines insurance products (Auto and Home). You will be a valued member of our Quality Engineering team and collaborate closely with developers, architects, and business stakeholders to drive excellence in testing and automation.
In this role, you will:
• Review and interpret complex test plans/designs to validate new and existing software functionality.
• Convert defined test designs into manual or automated test cases, ensuring timely delivery using best practices.
• Write stable, efficient, and maintainable automated test code to support continuous integration and delivery.
• Collaborate with senior QE engineers to define technical vision, best practices, and trade-offs between usability and performance.
• Mentor junior team members, conduct code reviews, and provide constructive feedback.
• Promote a culture of automation and high-quality standards, minimizing manual testing activities.
• Partner with business SMEs to understand domain requirements and create effective test scenarios.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, design discussions, and prioritization meetings.
Work model

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a remote position open to qualified applicants in the United States, with preference for candidates located in or near Phoenix, AZ. What you need to have to be considered
• 10+ years of experience in Quality Engineering.
• Strong understanding of personal lines insurance (Auto or Home).
• Expertise in test planning, design, and execution.
• Hands-on experience with automation frameworks and tools.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and perform code reviews.
These will help you stand out
• Experience with Guidewire applications.
• Advanced automation skills and knowledge of modern testing tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate complex issues into feasible solutions.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and continuous integration practices.
Salary and Other Compensation:
Applications will be accepted until 12/10/2025.
The annual salary for this position is between $71,100 - $112,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
