About the role

As a Senior IT Project Manager – Manhattan WMOS & Logistics, you will make an impact by leading cross-functional logistics technology projects that enhance operational efficiency across Distribution Centers (DCs), Final Mile, Transportation, and Returns. This role will primarily focus on Logistics projects with established project management methodologies/tools to develop and execute Technology project plans in alignment with our company and Vendor’s Software Development Lifecycle.

In this role, you will:

  • Apply industry-standard project management methodologies (Agile, SDLC) and tools (JIRA, Rally) to lead cross-functional logistics initiatives.
  • Drive execution of Warehouse Management (WMOS) and Supply Chain projects, including DC rollouts, Final Mile, Transportation, and Returns.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to align on flight plans, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Facilitate requirement grooming and solution design for systems like Manhattan WMOS and IBM Sterling.
  • Manage MOD development and integration touchpoints across upstream (Sterling OMS/IMS, RMS) and downstream (ProShip, 3PL) systems.
  • Oversee development and QA of microservices, performance monitoring (AppDynamics), and reporting (Snowflake, Power BI).
  • Own project financials: budgeting, forecasting, ROI analysis, and vendor accountability.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Lead multiple complex projects simultaneously, ensuring quality control and timely escalation.

Work model: Hybrid role

What you need to have to be considered

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science or related field.
  • 10+ years in Project/Program Management; 8+ years in Logistics/Supply Chain/Retail.
  • Proven experience with Manhattan WMOS, system integrations, and vendor management.
  • In depth understanding and proficiency of project management methodology/tools, including Jira, Rally etc., for Software Development Life Cycle
  • Experience in working with technical developers in making progress on technical deliverables/ milestones.
  • Solid technical understanding of logistics IT systems and architecture.
  • Experience in working with technical developers in making progress on technical deliverables/ milestones.
  • Skilled in project planning, execution, and escalation.
  • Proficient in data-driven decision-making and executive-level reporting.
  • Ability to work with 3rd party vendors, being able to see the big picture of the project.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $112,000- 130,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
