Role Overview

We’re seeking a Senior Software Engineer with 7+ years of experience in Core Java, Spring Boot, and AWS to design and deliver scalable cloud-native solutions. This role is focused on Retail Banking and requires deep technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and a proven ability to execute in complex environments. Ideal candidates will bring domain knowledge, hands-on development experience, and a commitment to engineering excellence.

Work Model

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring some days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Raleigh, North Carolina. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable applications using Spring Boot and Core Java
• Build and manage cloud-based solutions on AWS with high availability and performance
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications through cross-functional collaboration
• Ensure code quality and adherence to best practices through testing and documentation
• Implement security protocols to ensure data protection and regulatory compliance
• Optimize system performance by identifying and resolving bottlenecks
• Coordinate with stakeholders to deliver projects aligned with business objectives
• Maintain technical documentation to support development and operational continuity
• Evaluate emerging technologies and contribute to strategic planning
• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical teams to ensure project success

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in software development with expertise in Core Java, Spring Boot, and AWS
• Proven success in designing and delivering enterprise applications in Retail Banking
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and cloud computing principles
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills across technical and business domains
• Experience working in hybrid environments with distributed teams
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field
• Certifications:
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect
  • Oracle Certified Professional Java SE

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between 97,000 - 114,000k depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
