Job Description

About the role:

We are looking for a skilled Playwright Test Automation Engineer to join our QEA team in a permanent role. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining automated test scripts using Playwright. This role involves automating tests for user interfaces and APIs, collaborating with development teams, and integrating automated tests into continuous integration (CI/CD) pipelines.

Work Location: McLean, VA (5 days onsite)

What you need to have to be considered:

  • Must have 6 to 10 years of hands-on SDET experience in Java, Selenium, Cucumber, Jenkins, Maven and Gradle with strong expertise in Playwright.
  • Must have 2+ years of strong hands-on experience on Playwright for test automation along with experience in other automation tools frameworks such as Selenium.
  • Strong knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript for writing automated tests with Playwright.
  • Should have experience of building test automation frameworks from scratch.
  • Solid experience with backend API testing and automation (REST/SOAP APIs).
  • Have technical knowledge and understanding of Java concepts.
  • Good knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodology.
  • Should be able to work independently and help other team members.

  • Experience with banking domain.
  • Experience with test frameworks such as JUnit, TestNG, Mocha, Jest, or PyTest.

In this role, you will:

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright for web applications across multiple browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari).
  • Automate functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end tests for web applications to ensure robust quality assurance.
  • Create and implement scalable, maintainable, and reusable automation frameworks for automated testing.
  • Track test metrics such as pass rate, flakiness, and execution time and present improvements to the team during sprint reviews.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide feedback to team members.
  • Publish automation reports and track automation progress from backlog items.
  • Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline for continuous testing and faster delivery cycles.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, estimations, and retrospectives.
  • Collaborate closely with developers and quality assurance teams to enhance the overall testing process and provide fast, reliable, and comprehensive test coverage.
