About the role

As an Senior QA Automation Lead – API Testing, you will make an impact by leading and executing comprehensive testing strategies across multiple domains and technologies. You will be a valued member of the Quality Engineering team and work collaboratively with developers, product owners, and business stakeholders to ensure high-quality delivery in transportation and logistics systems.

In this role, you will

Design and implement automation frameworks using Selenium with Java and TestNG.

Perform API testing and automation for REST and SOAP services.

Validate messaging queues such as RabbitMQ or Kafka.

Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and sprint planning.

Conduct data validation testing using SQL and ensure data integrity.

Create test strategies, plans, and risk assessments for complex projects.

Mentor junior testers and lead best practices in automation and QA.

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Parsippany, NJ. What you need to have to be considered

10+ years of experience in software testing across multiple domains and technologies.

3+ years of expertise in API testing and automation (REST and SOAP).

Strong proficiency in Selenium with Java, TestNG, and CI/CD integration.

Domain knowledge in transportation and logistics systems.

Experience with messaging queues like RabbitMQ or Kafka.

Working knowledge of SQL for data validation.

Excellent communication and leadership skills for team coordination and stakeholder management.

This will help you stand out

Hands-on experience with Power Automate for workflow automation.

Cloud migration testing experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

Performance testing using JMeter or LoadRunner.

Security testing awareness and understanding of OWASP principles.

Experience with mobile and cross-browser testing using Appium or BrowserStack.

Ability to track KPIs and present quality dashboards.

Experience mentoring teams and implementing best practices.

Salary and Other Compensation

Applications will be accepted until December 15th, 2025.
The annual salary for this position is between $71,100 to $112,500, depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
