Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced 6+ years Snowflake Database Administrator with strong enterprise DBA Skills to support our growing cloud data platform. The ideal candidate will be responsible for administering snowflake, optimizing performance, ensuring security and governance, managing data pipelines and supporting complex analytical workloads across multiple line of business.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and administer snowflake environments across DEV/QA/UAT/PROD
  • 2.Configure Warehouses, Databases, Schemas, Roles, Resource Monitors and Storage Integrations
  • Setup and manage Snowpipes, Streams, Tasks and Time travel policies
  • Monitor and optimize compute usage, credits, warehouse performance and cost allocation. Database administration(Tradition SQL DS's)
  • Manage and Optimize Oracle, SQL Server, Postgre SQL or DB2 environments
  • Performance tuning, indexing, query optimization and schema management
  • Oversee Patching, upgrades, backups, recovery, high availability. Performance optimization.
  • Troubleshoot slow running queries and ingestion pipelines using Query Profile and account usage views.
  • Improve workload isolation using multi cluster warehouses and workload segmentation. Security, Goveranance and Compliance
  • Manage access control for users, roles, security accounts and integration
  • Ensure compliance with SOX, PCI, FFIEC and Bank security standards.
  • Support ETL/ELT pipelines built using Snowflake, DBT, Python, Kafka or similar tools.
  • Monitor Snowflake Account usage for performance and operational issues.
  • AWS Cloud Experience is must.
  • Good to have Production support experience
  • Work closely with Data engineers, Business stakeholders.
  • Provide documentation, runbooks and technical guidance.
  • Work in a hybrid model balancing remote and on-site collaboration to achieve project goals
  • Support migrations from onprem databases to Snowflake – Good to have exp.
  • Have a proactive approach to learning and adapting to new technologies.

Salary and Other Compensation:

Applications will be accepted until Dec 25, 2025.

The annual salary for this position is between $80,000 - $115,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
