Job Description

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Sr. Software Engineer B2 with strong expertise in healthcare payer systems and advanced technical skills to design, develop, and optimize enterprise applications. This role requires proficiency in process modeling, data analysis, and service management tools to deliver secure, scalable, and compliant solutions. You will play a key role in building innovative software that supports critical healthcare operations while ensuring adherence to industry standards like HIPAA.


About the role

As a Sr. Software Engineer B2, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain applications that streamline healthcare processes. You will leverage your knowledge of health plans, claims, and utilization management to create efficient workflows and ensure compliance. Your responsibilities include modeling business processes using tools like Visio, performing data analysis with Excel, Power BI, and Python, and managing service operations through ServiceNow. This position offers an opportunity to combine technical problem-solving with domain expertise to deliver impactful solutions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

In this role, you will:

  • Analyze business processes and create workflows based on the triage processes.
  • Document SOP's and maintain knowledge base
  • Web portal user administration across all Centene payer organizations.
  • Perform periodic audits based on the request from compliance team
  • Triage incidents and resolve / re-assign / collaborate with cross functional teams such as Health plan users, application teams, product teams etc.,
  • Support and coordinate with Web portal vendor enhancement and deployment activities from web portal critical issues.

· Root causal analysis for operational and compliance issues. ·

Salary and Other Compensation:

Applications will be accepted until December 14th , 2025.

The annual salary for this position is between $60,000 - $90,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
